“Two brains means double the ideas!”

“I feel smarter, but also grosser...”

“Agh! Is making Wolfgang think!”

“Does this make my brain look big?”

“PROVIDES DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT”

“Bright ideas shape the future!”

“I feel like a keener when I put it on.”

“I feel inspired.”

“My brain has the might öf my swörd!”

“It feels smart and squishy on our head.”

“It's, like, blowing my mind!”

“I can feel inspiration seeping into me! Wait, that's brain juice.”

“A jelly ta rest upon me dainty head.”
Brain of Thought is a craftable item from the Shipwrecked DLC. It requires an Alchemy Engine to prototype, and 1 Brainy Matter, 1 Jellyfish, and 2 Ropes to craft. It is used to access hidden recipes that have not been prototyped, including Volcanic Tab items, which cannot be prototyped and otherwise require being near an Obsidian Workbench to craft. A Brain of Thought can be used to craft 4 items, after which it will disappear. Brain of Thought will lose one use upon crafting any recipe while it is equipped, even if the recipe was previously unlocked. Crafting a recipe with a Brain of Thought will not unlock it.
Tips
- It could help replace the science or magic stations during Monsoon Season if they become flooded and non-functional.
- It currently only allows access to Ancient Tab recipes when brought into the base game or a Reign of Giants world using Seaworthy.
Trivia
- The name may be a pun on the common saying, "I lost my train of thought."
- Its design slightly resembles the metroids from the Metroid games.
