Ruins Regeneration

Ruins Regeneration is a new mechanic in Don't Starve Together that will respawn certain entities and structures when defeating the Ancient Fuelweaver near the activated Ancient Gateway. Once the boss is defeated the Atrium Gate will start to destabilize, consuming the Ancient Key used to activate the Ancient Gateway and killing all nearby Shadow Creatures. After 4 minutes, the gate will respawn Damaged Clockworks, Splumonkey Pods, Slurpers, Depths Worms, Ancient Statues, Broken Clockworks, Ancient Pseudoscience Stations in their respective places in the Ruins, add new items to Ornate Chests and Cave Holes and replace the Large Ornate Chest with an Ancient Guardian. The gate will have a recharge time of 20 days before being able to insert another Ancient Key[1].

  • Despite the Ancient Gateway being added in the Heart of the Ruins (part 1) update it wasn't possible to regenerate the ruins as the Ancient Gateway had Black and Yellow tapes all over it, on the Heart of the Ruins (part 3) update the Odd Skeleton was able to be reanimated next to the Ancient Gateway in the Atrium, triggering the boss fight.
  • It is possible to trigger this event by running the "c_resetruins()" command on the console interface.
