Template-info.svg Documentation The documentation below is transcluded from Template:Quotes/doc. (edit | history)

Following illustrates how to use this template: Each character has a separate quote. It doesn't matter which order the character quotes are specified, they will be sorted by the template. Missing characters will have blank spots for them. "choose" parameter is used to pick which character's quote would show by default (this can be changed by the viewer by clicking on any of the character portraits, but reverts when the page is refreshed). If "choose" is not specified, Wilson will be default. Having a choose value that isn't a correct character name will have the quotes display incorrectly, be careful and always preview the result. "Source" parameter is used to add a qualification for the quote, and is optional.

Please make sure every parameter is on a separate line. This would make it easier to maintain this template, even though is not necessary for the correct functionality. Without the line separation it is very hard to parse, and wiki's diff tool doesn't work correctly:

{{Quotes |wilson = Hey, isn't gold really soft?|willow = It won't light rocks on fire, but at least it's shiny.|wolfgang = Fancy pickaxe do better smash.|wendy = At least I can smash rocks with style.|wx78 = GOLD IS MORE DURABLE?|wickerbottom = The most malleable of metals, but let's see how this mines.|woodie = Almost an axe, but not quite.|maxwell = This must be game logic.|wagstaff = Strange, the gold makes it more durable, not less.|wigfrid = Göld för göld.|webber = The finest pickaxe of them all.|walani = I picked a good one.|warly = That looks nice.|woodlegs = Thet pick is made o' mighty soft metal.|warbucks = A rather elegant tool for fracturing rocks.|wilba = TIS PICKAXE O' SHINY.|wormwood = Pretty pokey|wheeler = I used a precious metal to make a rock smasher!|winona = A shiny way to smash up rocks.||wortox = A shiny way to smash up rocks?|choose = maxwell|source=when examining a [[Opulent Pickaxe]]}}

Multi line is more readable and diffs work:
