Special Power
Lucy the Axe
Woodie starts off with an axe named Lucy. Lucy is sapient and talks to Woodie, egging him on while chopping down Trees, and warning him about the curse (see below). Lucy talks in red text to differentiate from Woodie's white text. Lucy has infinite durability and chops Trees faster but deals less damage compared to a normal Axe.
Curse
If Woodie hits a Tree with an axe too many times in a short space of time or if it is a full Moon, he will transform into a Werebeaver. It does not matter which axe is used in the process, but it takes approximately 38 swings with Lucy to transform. In this Werebeaver form, the Hoedown Soundtrack will begin to play, the Map will be unavailable, and all of the HUD will disappear and be replaced by the Log Meter. The Werebeaver has no inventory and will drop all items upon transformation, including Lucy. The Log Meter has a value of 100 points and will decay at a rate of 2 points every 2.5 seconds. Damage taken by the player will also substracted by the Log Meter value. To keep the meter up the player must consume any of the items listed below.
Log Meter Consumption Table | |
---|---|
Log Meter (LM) | |
Living Log +50 LM | |
Boards +15 LM | |
Logs +10 LM | |
Saplings +10 LM | |
Berry Bush +10 LM | |
Spiky Bush +10 LM | |
Grass Tuft +10 LM | |
Twigs +5 LM | |
Pine Cones +2 LM | |
Cut Grass +1 LM |
When the Log meter reaches 0, the player will spawn in the same spot, as Woodie, at the beginning of the next day, with 50 , 50
, and 50
. Any Mobs aggressive against the Werebeaver will remain in place and also be aggressive towards Woodie, possibly killing him because of the low health.
The Werebeaver is able to chop down Trees, dig, mine, demolish Structures, and fight Mobs, but otherwise can't interact with objects in any other way. His attack strength is equivalent to the damage of a Tentacle Spike (51) and his strong hide absorbs 80% of incoming damage. If the player destroys a Plugged Sinkhole they will not be able to travel down as a Werebeaver.
The Werebeaver has limited night vision and as such is immune to the Night Monster.
Woodie will transform into a Werebeaver in the Caves and Ruins during the Full Moon cycle. This means that Woodie will likely wake up to complete darkness, unless close to a natural light source. Any Lanterns in a player's inventory (unless stored in a backpack) will turn on and drop to the ground, and will possibly be depleted by the time the transformation wears off. Keeping minerals in a backpack will prevent Rock Lobsters from eating them while Woodie is transformed.

Special Power

To make up for the negative changes, Woodie's beard now has a passive Insulation factor of 45(about the same as Wilson's beard at stage 2) and he now gains Sanity from planting trees.
Werebeaver
If Woodie's Log Meter reaches 25, he will turn into the Werebeaver. Before then, if Lucy is nearby, she'll warn him at intervals about his curse. As the Werebeaver, Woodie's hunger bar will disappear. Every hit to all objects will restore 1 to the Log Meter. Woodie and the Werebeaver share an inventory, sanity, and health, meaning the Werebeaver can go insane and starve. While the inventory's shared, the Werebeaver will drop equipped items and can't see or use anything in the inventory. If the player fills the Log Meter to 100 by eating, Woodie will turn back into a human. As a Werebeaver, his sanity depletes about 90 every minute, meaning he can go insane very quickly after turning a few times or staying a Werebeaver for a few minutes.
The damage Werebeaver Woodie inflicts has been reduced to about 25 - objects take longer to destroy, and mobs, some of whose health were raised for Don't Starve Together, take longer to kill. Since the Werebeaver doesn't have the protection of the Log Meter or any armor items, it may not be wise to fight too much in this state. Dying as the Werebeaver will cause Woodie to drop everything (as usual for all players) and turn into a Ghost that resembles the Werebeaver. If he is resurrected, he'll revive as the Werebeaver with 95 Log Meter, 50 health, and 95 sanity.
During a full moon Woodie will instantly turn into the Werebeaver, but for the duration of the full moon his Log Meter will drain extremely fast which forces the player to gnaw on objects and eat wood or else they will take severe damage from having his Log Meter at 0. After the full moon is over, Woodie will still be the Werebeaver but his Log Meter will stop draining rapidly and can turn back into a human by getting his log meter up to 100 again. It is more than likely you'll be at 0 Sanity by the end of the full moon, so it is recommend to have sanity boosting options ready (Such as pine cones or birch nuts nearby)
Celebrates Thanksgiving (Follower Bonus)
Woodie gains a bonus to follower time whenever he recruits a pigman, bunnyman, or rock lobster. The bonus loyalty time is flat and is different depending on who is being recruited.
Follower | Bonus Loyalty (480 = 1 day) |
